Stopped in on the long ride home to Indiana from Utah. Needed some food and didn't want a chain so we decided on this place after driving around a bit looking for a place, and boy are we glad we stopped. If we lived in North Platte we would definitely be regulars here. Clean, bright ambience. The service was AWESOME. This is the polar opposite of a Mexican restaurant we went to yesterday where the waitress was timid and not friendly. The guys here were energized and happy and great servers. I commend out waiter on his excellent service. Good job. They had jamaica...basically my favorite Mexican drink other than maybe sandía...which at most places they don't have, so that was a plus. Good, full menu with lots of interesting options but because of our haste to get back on the road we ordered off the quick lunch menu. I got an enchilada and a taco and both were very good. Taco was OVERseasoned if anything. Enchilada was great. My parents' plates were good as well. Rice was very well flavored and beans weren't too shabby either. Nothing bad about this place. Very fast, excellent service and fairly inexpensive.

Stayed in N. Platte on my drive to Colorado. I take any opportunity to avoid chain restaurants and places like this are the reason why. The atmosphere was pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. We had the steak and the San Pedro Fish plate. Both were great. I don't think you can go wrong with the steak plates, well cooked and great tasting. The lady that served us was working so nice, especially given how packed the place was and how hard she was working. Finally, its also really cheap. I don't think you can go wrong here.

Good Americanized Mexican food. One of the best dining options in North Platte if not the best... And also, great value for the money!

Stopped here for dinner on a trip to Colorado. LOVED the food. Seemed very authentic. Have recommended it to family and friends driving west on I-80. If I ever travel this way agin, we will definately stop.

Very good Mexican food! Wait staff was great...everyone that passed by asked if I needed anything, not just my waitress. The Flan for dessert was so good I ordered a second serving. Wish I lived close to this place and wasn't just passing through!

I'm not going to waste time with a review. This place was terrible. Truly awful Mexican food. There was a vast selection, but I can't imagine anything is edible.

Ordered the Parillada Plate for two and it came with enough meat for 4 people. The heat in their food is pretty mild but was given 2 grilled jalapeños to spice things up some. Order house margaritas and they came frozen which we don't usually order. They were okay, had a hard time tasting any tequila in them. Guacamole needed help! Was very bland. Good service was reasonable priced.

In all fairness, the food tasted good. I did really like the beef flavoring, but nothing else was outstanding. The bathroom was pretty darn dirty, and there were dead flies in the window ledge that was eye level with me next to the booth where we were sitting. Just seemed like they needed to pay a little more attention to their housekeeping, and meals would be a little more enjoyable.

Typical mexican restaurant. Free chips and salsa pre meal, and your standard authentic mexican options. Definitely tastier than a tacobell but the thing that upset me was that the waiter when refilling our waters, took them all into his hands and carried them out of site, and then returend the same glasses to us. I have no way of knowing if he made any effort to give us back our respective glasses and thought the entire process was sort of a turn off. I'd eat here again but if getting a refill on water, I'd make sure to request they only refill one glass at a time, or pay special attention to what they're doing and not carry them all together.

Love the food. Great atmosphere. And for valentine's day we got free desserts! Great food and speedy service even if they are busy.

Love the food and chips and salsa here! The 99 cent margaritas are my favorite!

Not impressed- I came in for lunch and was served quickly - server was decent but offer a glass with a beer and come and check how the food was Seems run down and could be nicer inside / food was below average- I won't return

Sorry San Pedro, but this food is not poppin. In fact even in the category of your average American-style Mexi joints, this slumps below average. The chips and salsa were fine - probably the highlight. But things went downhill from there. The beans tasted exactly like they had been dumped out of a can moments before, the rice had those dehydrated bits of carrot and pea that never fully recovered, and the sour cream was the consistency of latex paint. Speaking of which, a coat of white velveeta-like cheese product covered every exposed surface. The guacamole was clearly from a package, and the verde sauce was also just dumped out of a presumably gigantic cysco can. And the water cups were plastic and so chipped and scratched that they threatened to disintegrate at our lips. Get new ones! You gotta bring it a little harder if you're going to operate a restaurant. Just try a little harder.

The best mexican place in North Platte. They do you right here. Quick service, good (not great) chips and salsa. Anything on the menu is delicious. The best thing in my opinion is the queso. It is a white cheese and quite a bit different then what you get when you usually order chips and queso. The white cheese is smothered out on a tostada and then covered in ground beef. It's SOLID.

Stopped here on our drive to salt Lake City looking for somewhere to get a fast lunch. The building is colorful and the parking lot was full. We ordered off the quick lunch menu and it came fast. The food was good, but I think you have to remember where you're at in Nebraska. I had the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special and it was tasty, but small. If you're on the road and want to get a quick lunch try this restaurant. Three of us ate for 20$.

Got in town at 9pm and we were starving. Saw the Yelp reviews and hoped this place was open. It was! The food is great. The ambiance is noisy; even late as it was. Service was friendly and fast. I agree with the previous review, if we lived here we'd be regulars.

Immediate seating available. Love that they serve Coke products. Good chips and salsa. I had veggie combo, which was just 2 basic bean burritos. Pretty tasty with cheese sauce on top. Hamburgers available for kiddos. Good food! Good service!

Things seem to have turned around and our experiences have been better lately. The food has been much more consistent over the last 6 months.

Excellent food, great service. This is what Mexican food should taste like. We tried enchiladas, beef Mexicans, and chili verde. The server kept an ever vigilant eye and was efficient. I live in CA and I would have never guessed I could get better Mexican food in NE then in CA. Very cool place.

Bottom line: god food, good price, bad service Stopped here on a road trip. Looked delicious but knew from the reviews that nearly every restaurant in north platte had bad service. Started with 2 waiters trying to serve our table. Food took a food 45 minutes but margaritas were only 99 cents (consumed only by the non-driver).

We stopped in and were leery because the atmosphere is not much and the floor was pretty dirty. Service was adequate but the food was actually very good! Plenty of food, well prepared and seasoned. I would definitely come back. The carne asada tacos were great, the accompanying red chile sauce was very flavorful and quite spicy!

We travel a lot all over the United States and I have to say I was very pleased with this restaurant. The food was great and service was super. We will stop here again.

Pretty good food, and very fast service even though restaurant was busy. Had chile rellenos and chicken enchiladas - both tasty. Nice garlicky guacamole too. Received complimentary sopapillas for Mother's Day (even though not a mother). Waiter was impressive carrying multiple plates on each arm. Extra chips provided without asking. Overall - recommended.

The food was average. The service was good. Just compelled to say something even though there wasn't anything to say good or bad.

Great Mexican food! I had the chicken flautas delux. Only 4 out of 5 because it didn't come with rice and beans (so I ordered it extra). The bonus for me was they had jamica to drink! (My favorite). If you're in North Platte and craving Mexican food, come here!

The food is amazing. Huuuuge menu with tons of interesting choices. Really good chips and salsa, comes before your meal for free. Best Mexican food ive had in Nebraska.

They were busy, which may have led to poor service and getting my order wrong. To top it off, they ran out of margarita glasses, so I was given a small cup which held about a cup of liquid. I haven't received my bill yet to see if I was charged full price yet. I didn't get my rice with the meal, and the refried beans were cold.

If you're into Mexican food you really don't need to go anywhere else. The food here is awesome! I've had many dishes, I won't waste your time trying to remember them all. suffice it to say that anything and everything made in this restaurant is good, you cannot go wrong. Everyone has their favorite dishes, but they always love it when they try something new. Going out for Mexican means you're going to San Pedro!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
